PIN HOLE

Pinhole Photography

Pinhole Photography

Pinhole Photography is actually an old practice.
It is a theory to learn about in the history of
photography. the trend is moving toward digital
photography.

A pinhole is a small, light-tight can or box with a black
interior and a tiny hole in the center of one end.
By using common household materials, you
can make a camera that will produce pictures.

Pinhole photography is a technique that
mirrors the way the first cameras were used.
It usually done in black and white.
-Design and building the camera
-Loading paper in the darkroom
-Taking photos with pinhole camera and exposure
-Processing and Printing
-Image

Here a picture of my pinhole camera
Making Pinhole camera

  • Take a black paper and measure the size for
  • milo tin and soda can.
  •  Tape up the tin or can.
  •  Cut the shape of the head in the top of the
  • tin or can.
  •  Make the cover of that tin or can with black
paper and tape  it on the outside.

  •  Tape them and make sure that no light can enter.

  •  Once you are sure no light can get in, use the small needle to make a hole in the middle of the bottom of the tin or can.

  •  Tape down the cut black tape for tin or can to the hole that you made.

  •  Photographic Paper - 20,3x25,4 cm ( 8x10 in )

  •   Photographic Paper - 12,7x17x,8 cm ( 5x7 in )

  •  Then photo paper inside the tin while in a darkroom (Loading the paper).

  •  Go outside on a sunny day and I’ll be able to see an image upside down on your screen (making an exposure). Pinhole cameras were best at less than three feet away from the subject and exposures were about 2 seconds or 3 seconds.

After that go to inside the dark room :
-Developer      2minutes
-Stop bath      1minute
-Fixer             2minutes

The image that i get

this picture is about two 2 seconds exposures
(it still not enough of light)

After increase 1 second (3 seconds) the image is better
than 2 seconds

My final work
